State Of Mind
UPDATE 01-16-2010:
Initiated by our original founding-member of the band Jürgen we have met again after many years and talked about current and past thingys in a cozy get together and also listened to some old recordings... This was a very nice evening and a lot of forgotten memories came back again...

This was my first band in which I played the drums. It was founded in June 1995 by...
Jügen Walther - guitar. He once had placed the add in the newspaper called "SperrMuell" and as a result of that I applied to it as a drummer and obviously have been what he had hoped for. The name of our band I thought up, in reference to Billy Joel's "New York State Of Mind".
The original line-up furthermore then consisted of:
Florian (Flo) Walther - keyboard & vocals
Ruben Engel - bass
Susanne Schneider - guitar
and the little me on the drums.
Pretty short after that...
Falko Schütz
...on the bass joined us and replaced Ruben. Again a bit later I first met...
Knut Andiel
...and all of a sudden we had an appropriate vocalist, since Flo in those times only took care of it because he's been forced to do it. Nowadays we all know that he has become an outstanding lead-vovalist (Against The Grain).

our info-flyer
This line-up remained until somewhen in 1997 (I think). When Falko and Flo decided to leave the band to concentrate on new own projects (as for instance "Against The Grain" together with Fritz). For Falko...
Aike Heck - bass...came in to the band. The keyboard was left vacant. With this line-up we have had the first timid chances to play gigs. One of them was the gig at the...
...Schwimmfest in summer of 1998 at the Nordbad.
Unfortunately in fall of 1998 Knut because of familiar reasons (he became daddy for the second time) and Aike because of increasing musically different orientation decided to leave "State Of Mind". This was a bit too much at once, and especially bass-player and vocalist, of which not too much are available. After we had tried to find a substitute for almost a quarter of a year, we decided to leave it at all and have bear S.O.M. (as I always called it internally) to its grave on January 2nd 1999.
With this little junction on my homepage I'd like to thank all the above mentioned friends for a great time and the chance to find to myself. Even when it came to a row every now and then we always were, I think I can say this, good friends and buddies and still are to this day (although eyes are set on the one or another only rarely *smirk*).
Thanx a lot guys,
take care...
